Idaho Jail Standards for Detention Staff

This course is open to all sworn or non-sworn Detention Center staff, medical first responders, or related public service agency personnel.

Presented through a combination of classroom lecture and practical exercises, this 4-hour course will provide students with materials that will help them understand Idaho jail history, reasons for jail requirements, and current applications. Legal duties regarding inmate supervision will be discussed with an emphasis on recognition of areas of liability and how to mitigate them.

• Idaho Codes
• Idaho Sheriffs Association
• Sheriff requirements
• Facility requirement
• Deputy requirements
• Civil Liability

Chad served 23 years in Idaho law enforcement. As a commander, he achieved Advanced Patrol and Level III Detention certificates. At ICRMP, Chad trains law enforcement personnel with the highest level POST-certified training available to law enforcement and offers 30 state-wide certified classes. He also assists agencies in developing their own certified training departments.
