This course is open to all sworn Patrol/Detention/Dispatch personnel in both Sheriff’s Offices and Police Departments. Attendees can expect a classroom training, where problem solving, and decision making regarding the physical searching of suspects/inmates. Recent national cases will be reviewed, with both court findings and on body camera recordings; to aid students in their future decisions regarding how to search and/or physically take items from a suspect/inmate. Federal case law for 2023 will be given, and your policy guidelines will be compared.

Chad served 23 years in Idaho law enforcement. As a commander, he achieved Advanced Patrol and Level III Detention certificates. At ICRMP, Chad trains law enforcement personnel with the highest level POST-certified training available to law enforcement and offers 30 state-wide certified classes.
