Active School Shooting and Response for Law Enforcement

This course is open to all sworn Law Enforcement personnel.

Presented through a combination of classroom lecture and PowerPoint presentation, this 1-hour course will provide students with principles and techniques that will help them better handle tense interactions with the angry members of the public, focusing on both their survival and effective communication to de-escalate the situation.

Topics covered will include:

  • Four-step communication
  • Personnel safety
  • Uninvolved bystanders
  • Video recording devices
  • Mental illness factors
  • Time vs need for action
  • Idaho Code reference firearms/self-protection

Chad served 23 years in Idaho law enforcement. As a commander, he achieved Advanced Patrol and Level III Detention certificates. At ICRMP, Chad trains law enforcement personnel with the highest level POST-certified training available to law enforcement and offers 30 state-wide certified classes. He also assists agencies in developing their own certified training departments.
