This course is open to all sworn Patrol and Detention personnel in both Sheriff’s Offices and Police Departments.

Attendees can expect a classroom discussion and hands-on training, where problem solving, and decision making will be presented regarding the use of the WRAP Restraint device. Training will include decision tree applications for advanced restraints, liability of use, and current case laws surrounding their use. Medical interventions and assessments of persons restrained will be reviewed and application of advanced First Aid/CPR should the suspect/inmate require it from the officers/deputies.

The following will be specifically discussed:

• Civil/Criminal Liability
• 4th Amendment seizures
• Restraint Decisions
• WRAP Restraint systems
• Qualified Immunity
• Excited Delirium/Conditional Asphyxia

Note: There will be mat room training, please come prepared with appropriate BDU/Polo shirt attire, duty belts with handcuffs.

This course has been approved for 4 hours of POST training credit.

Chad served 23 years in Idaho law enforcement. As a commander, he achieved Advanced Patrol and Level III Detention certificates. At ICRMP, Chad trains law enforcement personnel with the highest level POST-certified training available to law enforcement and offers 30 state-wide certified classes. He also assists agencies in developing their own certified training departments.
