Medical Intervention/Suspect Well-Being

This course is open to all sworn or non-sworn patrol staff, medical first responders, or related public service agency personnel.
Presented through a combination of classroom lecture and practical exercises, this 4-hour course will provide students with principles and techniques that will help them supervise inmate populations. Legal duties regarding inmate supervision will be discussed with an emphasis on recognition of medical emergencies and proper response to them.
Topics covered will include:
- Deliberate Indifference
- Estelle Decision
- Constitutional Law
- Idaho Codes
- Medical emergencies
- Likely symptoms encountered
- Suicidal inmates
- Emergency transportation
This is one of the popular classes for both new patrol staff members, and those that have been working for many years. Please make plans to attend.
